On August 12, 2021, the Governments of Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador extended the immigration agreement that was first signed in 2016.
This agreement will be in effect until July 31, 2022, and allow the provincial government to nominate candidates who meet both federal and provincial immigration objectives.
This year, Newfoundland and Labrador issued permanent residency (PR) to 275 employees and 300 of their family members as well as 400 individuals in the health care sector through the Atlantic Immigration Pilot (AIP) and Provincial Nominee Program
