On May 27, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held a new Express Entry invitation round. In round #149, Canada issued Invitations to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence to 328 candidates, where the Comprehensive Ranking System score increased by 39 points. All invited candidates were eligible for the Provincial Nominee Program, and no Federal Skilled Worker or Federal Skilled Trades candidates have been invited. The lowest Comprehensive Ranking System score in this draw was 757 points. The tie-breaking rule for this round was APRIL 27, 2020, at 10:19:01 UTC. IRCC has also updated the breakdown table of the CRS score distribution of candidates in the Express Entry pool.
IRCC has been holding Express Entry rounds for PNP and CEC targeting candidates with provincial nominations since March 2020. This comes with the reality that Canada closed its border in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
