On June 10, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) held an unexpected Express Entry invitation round. In round #152, Canada issued Invitations to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence to 3,559 candidates. This draw was the second-largest Express Entry Draw for CEC since March 15. All invited candidates were eligible for the Canadian Experience Class program CEC, which is open to foreign nationals with at least one year of work experience in Canada. The lowest Comprehensive Ranking System score in this draw was 437 points, a decrease from the last CSC draw that took place on May 28, 2020, with a mark of 440. The tie-breaking rule for this round was May 25, 2020, at 00:31:43 UTC.
This is the eigth draw that issued ITA to candidates eligible under the CEC program, most probably because they are already in Canada during this period of restriction to fly into Canada from other countries.
On June 10, 2020, 341 ITAs were issued to candidates with Provincial Nomination Certificate from the Provincial Nomination Programs (PNP). The CSR score was 743. Click here for more information.
IRCC has been holding Express Entry rounds for PNP and CEC targeting candidates with provincial nominations since March 2020. This comes with the reality that Canada closed its border in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
