The International Mobility Program (IMP) allows Canadian employers hiring temporary foreign workers without a Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA). Work permits issued under the IMP may be open or closed, depending on the specific program and stream. In September 2019, Canada issued 38,020 work permits in the International Mobility Program, which is more 11,000 than in the previous month. So far, according to the official data, IRCC issued work permits to 229,320 foreign workers in this program.
